Occasionally, I venture back out to the air base where I'm greeted by an imposing security guard who looks carefully at my identification card, hands it back and says, "Have a good day, Tech Sergeant."

Had a good time at the caverns... Debbie, Mikaley and myself went and took the 1.5 hour tour down into the depths of the caverns (1.3 miles). It was nice and chilly (60 degrees) and well laid out. It is a trip everyone who lives in the North Alabama area should make. It's not expensive, it was $12.00 for me and Debbie and $6.00 for Mikaley, so $30.00 total. The group was diverse, had people from Israel to California along with locals. About 25 people in all. We will certainly make another visit, especially when family is in town.

Heading to the Cathedral Caverns near Grant, Al today to tour. Should be a neat trip and nice and cool as the caverns are at 60 degrees Fahrenheit most of the time.. nice way to beat the heat.
